In the first post from BioVeda’s Energy Medicine Series, we explored the definition of energy medicine and how Dr. Joseph Mercola, arguably the most famous of complementary and alternative medicine physicians, uses it in his practice. We defined energy medicine as any healing technique that utilizes known energies such as magnetism, electricity, sound, or light. We established that most applications of energy medicine are accomplished through the use of frequencies that mimic those of substances or stressors in our environment.

In order to break these stress-inducing associations, the BAX 3000 and the BAX AURA expose the patient to digitized frequencies that mimic the frequencies of substances in the real world. BioVeda and the BAX 3000 was recently the focus of a feature story by CBS Atlanta, “Allergy Relief Without Needles Or Pills?“.  A corresponding video is available to view here.

Maury Williams found out his allergies were triggered by food, specifically aspartame and beans. “Within a half-hour after lunch, I’d start sneezing and wheezing,” Williams said.

Introduction

Neurological Stress Reduction Therapy or NSRT is a revolutionary technique rooted in Eastern medicine dating back more than 5,000 years. Voll, who began to study Eastern medicine and Chinese acupuncture meridian systems in the late 1940s, reasoned that if there were channels of energy that ran throughout the body and came to the skin’s surface at various acupuncture points, there should be a way to measure this energy. He developed a device which measured the body’s ability to conduct this energy and compared the measurements of healthy patients to those who had conventional diseases. He found that the electrical conductivity reading outside of the normal range revealed disturbances in tissues and organs traditionally associated with these acupuncture points. He also noticed that major disturbances in the body produced a steady decay of the conductivity indicator as the point was being measured.

Second, he discovered that medicines placed in the proximity of the patient could change acupuncture point readings, and that simply holding a substance would indicate how the body would respond if ingested. One theory explaining this phenomenon is that all matter, both alive and innate, vibrates at a specific and unique frequency as a result of the electric charges of the particles at the atomic level, and thus emit electromagnetic waves. These waves are picked up by cells, all of which have a receptor designed specifically to receive electromagnetic signals from the surrounding environment.

Methodologies

Dr. Voll’s methodology, known as “Electro-Acupuncture According to Voll,” or EAV, set the groundwork for future homeopathic frameworks which include Applied Kinesiology (AK), NAET, Brimhall Wellness Technique, and the newest of these therapies, Neurological Stress Reduction Therapy (NSRT) developed by BioVeda Technologies, formerly BioAllergenix and performed using the BAX-3000.

Applied Kinesiology (AK) uses manual muscle testing to evaluate body function through the dynamics of the muscoskeletal system. Established by Dr. Goodheart in 1964, he discovered that a weak muscle could test strong through massage of its extreme ends where the tendons attach to the bone. An AK doctor will use muscle tests to evaluate the physiological responses to physical, chemical and mental stimulus and then integrate them with clinical history, physical examination, lab tests, x-rays and other diagnostic methods to determine the best course of treatment.

Nambudripad’s Allergy Elimination Technique (NAET) is a drug-free and non-invasive approach designed specifically to eliminate allergies of all types through the unblocking of energy pathways or meridians and the restarting of normal circulation through the energy channels. Developed in1983 by Dr. Nambudripad, it uses a combination of testing procedures – acupuncture and acupressure, allopathy, chiropractic, nutritional and kinesiological concepts – to identify the substance specific allergen and then to balance the natural occurring energies of the body with the electromagnetic energies found in one’s environment. NAET treatments include acupuncture or acupressure, followed by 20 minutes of rest.

Dr. John Brimhall developed a model based on “Six Steps to Wellness” which he identified as structural imbalance, electromagnetic radiation, nutritional deficiencies, allergies and sensitivities, negative emotional patterns and toxicity. Brimhall uses a modified version of NAET for allergy testing and AK muscle testing as a primary diagnostic tool for each of these six steps.

NSRT – The Revolutionary Alternative from BioVeda Technologies

While these three techniques represented significant advancements, they were ridden with subjectivity, took tremendous amounts of time and required significant training. They were often painful for the patient, results were not reproducible, and only accounted for a limited number of substances.

Using advances in technology, Neurological Substance Relaxation Therapy or NSRT was developed to address and overcome these limitations and constraints.

NSRT is based on four facts:

1. Stress causes or exacerbates most health-related conditions;

The school of thought behind NSRT is that if a reaction can be learned, it can also be unlearned, and the body can be taught to respond in a more neutral manner using what Ivan Pavlov called positive conditioning or classical conditioning.

Solution

BioVeda Technologies, formerly BioAllergenix, developed NSRT using the BAX-3000 as an improvement on the previous techniques, providing a faster, fully-automated, FDA cleared, painless, non-invasive and generally more effective methodology.

There are three primary components to the BAX-3000:

1. The Digital Conductance Meter (DCM) which measures resistance within the body’s electrical circuitry. Clips are attached to the patient on the middle finger or allergy meridian on each hand completing an electrical circuit with the device.
2. The DCM transposes the frequencies from a digital format, as they are housed in the software, to a radio frequency. During the assessment, the DCM systematically exposes the patient to each individual substance, while measuring impedance. If the impedance reading during any specific substance exposure varies to a degree that is considered statistically relevant, the system tags it as a stressor, allowing the practitioners to apply it during NSRT.
3. NSRT is performed with the Light Conductance Meter, which converts the same frequencies that had been presented as sound and recorded as causing a stress spike into a light format and presented to the patient on specific acupuncture points.

The BAX-3000 couples the environmental stress frequencies that were specifically identified by the DCM with a positive stimulus. In this case, the stress inducing frequency presented in a homeopathic level in the form of light is the positive stimulus. The light, introduced using a laser, stimulates nerve bundles triggering the brain to release endorphins and enkephalins which calm the nervous system, thus breaking the previous negative association. Rather than releasing histamine during future real world exposure, the brain elicits a neutral reaction.

The BAX-3000 is unique because it combines state of the art technology with proven alternative and holistic principles. While a certain amount of stress is normal, chronic negative stress has been proven to be harmful to a person’s health. When an individual is faced with stress, the body goes into a fight or flight response where the heart rate increases, breathing is accelerated, and muscles tense up. Activity in the sympathetic nervous system rises and the adrenal glands release epinephrine, norepinephrine and corticosteroid hormones into the blood stream. This reaction causes digestion to stop, blood sugar levels to increase, and the heart to pump more blood. If stress persists, there will eventually be a breakdown of bodily resources and a reduction of levels of epinephrine and norepinephrine in the brain. Stress reactions lead to behavioral and biological processes that contribute to the onset of disease.

Effects of chronic stress include symptoms such as: allergies and food sensitivities, migraine headaches, sleep disorders, digestive disorders, muscle tightness, jaw problems, breathing problems, circulatory problems, heart palpitations, IBS, cold and sore throats, skin irritations, chronic fatigue, menstrual irregularities, erectile dysfunction, concentration problems and depression, to name a few. Long-term chronic stress can ultimately result in death. Clearly there is a heavy price to pay when people have too much stress in their lives whether that is mental stress caused by anxiety or physical stress caused by specific environmental or ingested substances.

Preventative medicine and alternative therapies will have a place in President Obama’s new healthcare plan.  In a town hall meeting in Arnold Missouri, as released on Whitehouse.gov in Remarks by the President April 29, 2009, President Obama addressed a question related to alternative medicine and it’s future within the newly proposed healthcare program:

Q    I’m a licensed acupuncturist and licensed massage therapist in Florissant.  And so –

THE PRESIDENT:  I could use one right now.  (Laughter.)  My back is stiff.  I’ve been working hard.

Q    I’ll be happy to help you.  (Laughter.)  And this kind of fits into what you were just talking about as far as health care.  I’m wondering, as a practitioner of Oriental medicine, knowing that the National Institutes of Health and the World Health Organization has discovered through their studies that alternative medicine often is more cost-effective and very effective, how will alternative medicine fit in your new health care program?

THE PRESIDENT:  Well, look, my attitude is that we should — we should do what works.  So I think it is pretty well documented through scientific studies that acupuncture, for example, can be very helpful in relieving certain things like migraines and other ailments — or at least as effective as more intrusive interventions.

I will let the science guide me.  We just swore in an outstanding new Secretary of Health and Human Service, Kathleen Sebelius, former governor of Kansas.  (Applause.)  It’s good to see that a Jay Hawk got applause on this side of the border here. I think one basic principle that we know is that the more we do on the prevention side, the more we can obtain serious savings down the road.  So giving children early checkups, making sure that they get immunized, making sure that they are diagnosed if they’ve got eyesight problems, making sure that they’re taught proper nutrition to avoid a life of obesity — those are all issues that we have some control over.  And if we’re making those investments, we will save huge amounts of money in the long-term.

Unfortunately, the hardest thing to do in politics — and certainly in health care reform — has been to get policymakers to make investments early that will have long-term payoffs.  Because people — their attitude is, well, I’ll be out of office by the time that kid grows up; and, the fact that they’re healthy, that doesn’t help me.  And in the private sector insurance system, oftentimes insurers make the same calculation. Their attitude is, well, people change jobs enough for us to pay for the preventive medicine now when the problem may not crop up for another 20 years and they’ll be long out of our system, so we don’t want to reimburse it because it will make things more costly.  That’s the logic of our health care system that we’re going to have to change.

The recovery package put a huge amount in prevention.  We are, in our budget, calling for significant increases in prevention.  And my hope is, is that working in a bipartisan fashion we are going to be able to get a health care reform bill on my desk before the end of the year that will start seeing the kinds of investments that will make everybody healthier.  All right?  (Applause.)

True “allergies” are an inappropriate immunogenic reaction. The two main types that we deal with are Immediate and Delayed. Immediate is mediated by IgE. Delayed is mediated by specialized T-cells. Patients can have mixed reactions, e.g. the immediate reaction can lead to biochemical changes that can cause delayed reactions. But ALL truly ALLERGIC reactions can ONLY happen as a result of the interactions of either IgE or T-cells with some ANTIGEN. Antigens are minimally present in certain polysaccharides and complex fatty acids, but are most common in large poly-peptides and proteins. They are molecular fingerprints, if you will. To be guilty of causing and allergic reaction, the offender must have a fingerprint.

As far as I have been able to discover, no antigen-antibody reactions have been demonstrated with any molecule with a molecular weight of less than 600. Salt, for example, has a molecular weight of 28. Na (sodium) is 11; Cl (chorine) is 17. Together, {NaCl (salt)} they have a molecular weight of 28. Such substances are not capable of causing an “allergic” reaction – i.e., you cannot be allergic to salt. Thus, our immune system, whether IgE mediated or T-cell mediated, cannot even “see” a grain of salt – no fingerprint – no antigen – no antigen-antibody reaction – no allergy.

Our brains, on the other hand, are responsive to molecular frequencies. The brain may not label a certain frequency as “salt”, but it will respond to frequencies when exposure is repeated, and repeated exposures stimulate repeated responses – reference Pavlovian or Classical Conditioning. That everything has a molecular signature frequency is undisputed. Click here for basic references. We DO have the technology to test for and chart molecular signature frequencies. Note that they are listed as “‘ranges”, which explains the minor variations you may be experiencing in testing. Frequency emissions readings will vary with temperature and barometric pressure. Therefore, when testing someone with ONE isolated frequency that the BAX 3000 has cataloged as “salt”, if their individual conditioning is responsive to a frequency range for salt that is more at one end or another of the range from what we are using, we may get one of our classice “mixed” responses – e.g. trace response, unidentified response, multiple responses etc.

Neurological stress has been identified as a causal agent in the exacerbation of allergies. It has been noted by immunological researchers that the immune system, when activated, will bind with and react to the most abundant, smallest antigen available in the momentary environment.

When the neurological stress load on a human being reaches some critical level – different for each of us, dependent upon genetics, diet, conditioning, etc. – the immune system will be activated as a defense mechanism. If the major stressor is of a molecular weight insufficient to participate in a true “allergic” reaction, i.e. less than 600 molecular weight, then the immune system may, under those circumstances, react to the smallest, most abundant antigen in the momentary environment. Pollen is a relative small and relatively abundant antigen in most environments. Any guesses as to why so many people have allergies to various types of pollen?

Our system is not – repeat NOT – testing for “allergies”, per se. It is testing for neurologically programmed, learned, conditioned, acquired sensitivities. Some may be allergies; some may not. People have sensitivity reactions to all kinds of things – some are allergies, some are not. When someone has an allergic reaction in the presence of something that is not phyically capable of producing an allergic response, suspect that the exposure is causing something to be metabolically produced or activated to which the person is actually having the allergic reaction – guaranteed that “something” will have a fingerprint. The irritant that CAUSED its production or activation may not, e.g. exposure to sunlight, or cold, or water – none of which is physically, chemically capable of being directly involved in an antigen-antibody reaction.

Laser has been so irrefutably demonstrated to have positive physiological affects that the research is hardly even cited anymore, but, if you want to wade through the minutiae go here.  He’s done fair job of posting plenty of citations from which you can, if you really want to, gain an awesome understanding of the mechanisms involved.  Trust me – bottomline – it works. Combined with the individually embedded, offensive frequencies gleaned from the diagnostic protocols available with the BAX 3000, it becomes a very effective tool to reverse the debilitating effects of the Pavlovian Conditioning mentioned at the beginning of this paper. We, however, are introducing rather deliberate, therapeutic conditioning, by reassociating the offending frequencies with the positive physiological affects of the laser. Keep in mind that you could use any laser on the patient while they just sit in front of the DCM and it would be of SOME therapeutic benefit. With the combination of the frequency synchronization, you have, quite possibly, the ultimate neurological reprogramming tool available.

I hope this clarifies some of the mechanisms and the evidences for what we are doing and that it will be helpful in explaining it in terms a bit more mainstream than “balancing your aura”.

The reduction of stress on the autonomic nervous system (ANS), which controls the body’s “fight or flight” response, can directly improve overall health and wellness. According to the AMA, stress causes or contributes to between 80 and 85% of all human illness.

L.A.S.E.R. Therapy

Case Study: L.A.S.E.R Therapy and Chronic Fatigue Syndrome (CFS)

CFS is defined by the symptom of incapacitating fatigue which is not improved by rest. It is worsened by physical or mental activity and is crippling for the sufferer. Other symptoms associated with this syndrome are cognitive dysfunction; malaise lasting more than 24 hours following physical or mental exercise; unrefreshing sleep; joint and muscle pain; headaches; tender cervical or axillary lymph nodes and sore throat.

In November 2008, a subject in their late 30s came to Dr. McKenna suffering from what was self reported to be CFS. For the previous 15 years, the subject reported having slept 12 hours a day while experiencing chronic joint pain in the shoulders and knees. The subject also reported chronic heartburn; dark circles around the eyes; hay fever; and dry skin.

The subject had consulted with other medical practitioners, undergone blood tests, and experimented with a number of OTC medications – with little result. He sought out Dr. McKenna for chiropractic care to relieve the joint pain; however, after review of his symptoms, Dr. McKenna suggested that L.A.S.E.R therapy would be appropriate. While not attempting to diagnose or treat CFS, Dr. McKenna believed through SSSR the subject’s symptoms could be alleviated.

Assessment with the BAX-3000 identified heightened ANS stress reactions to coffee, chocolate, eggs, milk and wheat. The subject, a waiter in a Spanish restaurant, was in direct contact with these substances. At the end of each shift, he would be unnaturally exhausted. Further exploration revealed the patient was not eating the foods, but the mere smell and touch of the items induced a stress response.
