The areas where phenolics are effective are as vast as there are people with health problems. There effectiveness borders on the miraculous and appears to be very long lasting. Phenolic therapy offers a wide array of options for the treatment of allergies and other health problems. Like other treatment modalities, however, successful use of these important tools requires some careful study. Enough evaluation and clinical experience has been accomplished, however, to offer the health practitioner reasonable confidence that such time would be well spent.
Lack of hydration or “dehydration” is at epidemic levels in society. Water acts as a flushing mechanism in the kidneys. On a system level, without appropriate hydration, a person’s organs are subjected to inordinate stress. Our brain, working around the clock, requires more water than any other part of the body. An improperly hydrated nervous system cannot function at optimum performance. In fact water is so important that at birth we are approximately 75% water. What is more intriguing is that by age 70 it is estimated that human water percentage can be as low as 40%! Society is living in a constant state of dehydration.
In conclusion, NAET focuses on identifying and removing energy blockages within the natural energy channels or meridians of the body. These blockages are the result of the repulsion by the body to substance specific energies found in the environment. These blockages may manifest as a variety of different symptoms and conditions. The repulsion of energies is explained through genetic theory. NAET utilizes Muscle response Testing to identify these blockages and acupuncture/acupressure to restore normal balance to the energy pathways. Once normal balance is restored the body no longer reacts to the allergen and the patient’s condition clears up.
Dr. Brimhall’s approach is based on a principle that he developed called “The Six steps to Wellness”. In this model he identifies six major parts of, what he refers to as the “health puzzle”. Dr. Brimhall claims that in order for a person to hold a chiropractic adjustment, all six parts of the health puzzle must be addressed. He states that “subluxation causes disease, but we must identify what causes the subluxation(s) for each patient”.
According to the International College of Applied Kinesiology (ICAK), “Applied Kinesiology (AK) is a system that evaluates structural, chemical and mental aspects of health using manual muscle testing combined with other standard methods of diagnosis. The combined terms “applied” and “kinesiology” describes the basis of this system, which is the use of manual muscle testing to evaluate body function through the dynamics of the musculoskeletal system. Treatments may involve specific joint manipulation or mobilization, various myofascial therapies, cranial techniques, meridian and acupuncture skills, clinical nutrition, dietary management, counseling skills, evaluating environmental irritants and various reflex procedures.”
