7 Exercises for Weight Loss and Optimal Fitness
    February 5, 2010 – 9:47 am | No Comment

BioVeda Health and Wellness Centers focus on holistic and alternative approaches to health and wellness.  One of the most important elements to healthy living is maintaining a healthy weight through exercise and physical activity,  which is a position that both alternative health-care and conventional medicine can agree upon.  In fact, according to WebMD, there are 7 exercises that you should incorporate into their exercise routine in order to lose weight and optimize your  fitness results.  They are as follows:

    1. Walking
    2. Interval Training
    3. Squats (be careful of your back!)
    4. Lunges
    5. Push-ups
    6. Abdominal Crunches
    7. Bent Over Row (be careful of your back!)

Click here to see the WebMD slideshow and proper technique for the 7 most effective exercises you can do for optimal fitness.

Dr. Luke Reineck with BioVeda Health and Wellness Center of Milford, Ohio shares these fitness tips from WebMD on his BioVeda of Milford blog and offers additional fitness advice.  He points out that during the abdominal work out, they show an option of bending the knees and keeping the feet off the floor in a crunch-style sit up.  This is not recommended  because that position engages the hip flexors causing them to tighten when the purpose of the sit-up is to isolate the abdominal muscles.  Also remember to support your neck and crunch using your abdominal muscles, not your neck and shoulders!

Exercise is an important fitness element to optimal health and wellness.  Get your body moving today!

Consuming your recommended water intake is essential for living a healthy life. We can go weeks without any food but we can only survive for 3 days without any water. The bottom line is: drink more water! It is the key to a healthier life!
